The WonderWorks Academy Way

At WonderWorks Academy, our vision for preschool goes beyond traditional education. We believe every child is on a magical journey of discovery. Our mission is to create a nurturing, imaginative space where curiosity blooms, kindness is celebrated, and young minds are empowered to explore, learn, and grow. We are dedicated to fostering a love for learning and a sense of wonder, guiding each child to reach their unique potential with confidence, joy, and creativity.

About Us

We are Sara Porter and Sage Tornow, the founders and lead teachers at WonderWorks Academy, and we are so excited to learn and grow with your child this year! We'd love to schedule a phone call, Zoom meeting, or show you around WonderWorks Academy, so we can get to know you better and tell you more about what we can do to help your child thrive in preschool. Miss Sara

I have a bachelor's degree in Human Development with a minor in Music and a master's degree in Educational Technology and Learning Experience Design. I am passionate about education and have spent two years learning alongside the best; Lisa Boyce at GardenGate Preschool in Provo! I speak Spanish and also have years of experience as a daycare counselor, elementary cadet music teacher, and nanny. When I'm not with my littles, you can find me teaching institute, running a local Bible study for high school girls, or doing hot yoga. My lifelong dream has been to open my own preschool, and I'm so excited to teach and love your child!

Meet Miss Sara

Miss Sage

I am studying Early Childhood Education and Human Development with a minor in Entrepreneurship, and will be graduating soon. I love teaching children and started my own at-home preschool in 2024. Over the years, I have worked as a preschool teacher, ran summer camps, worked in the BYU Lab School teaching kindergarten, and nannied. Outside of work, I enjoy playing pickleball, skiing, spending time outside, and finding ways to use my Spanish. I'm an entrepreneur at heart, and love that I have the opportunity to bring my passion for early childhood education and business together to create a truly special preschool experience for your child!

Curriculum

At WonderWorks Academy, our preschool curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support your child's individual development—addressing their educational, emotional, and physical needs. We believe in nurturing the whole child through a balanced and holistic approach that lays the groundwork for both academic and personal growth. Our program emphasizes hands-on learning through art, movement, imaginary play, and early literacy skills through engaging reading experiences. This well-rounded approach ensures that your child develops the skills and confidence they need for a lifetime of learning and growth.

Art

Art

Art encourages creativity and self-expression, allowing children to explore their emotions and develop problem-solving skills. Through drawing, painting, and crafting, preschoolers also build fine motor skills and gain an understanding of the world around them. Art fosters imagination and gives young learners the confidence to share their unique perspectives.

Movement

Movement-based activities like dancing, jumping, and climbing help children develop physical coordination and build strength. Additionally, movement encourages social skills as children collaborate and interact with peers during group activities, fostering teamwork and communication. It also promotes emotional well-being and can help children feel more confident and engaged.

Reading

Imaginary Play

Imaginary play allows children to explore different roles, situations, and emotions, promoting social skills, empathy, and problem-solving. By engaging in pretend play, preschoolers learn to communicate, negotiate, and navigate various social interactions, which are essential skills for building healthy relationships and emotional intelligence.

Reading

Reading at an early age builds vocabulary, comprehension, and a love of language. It introduces children to new ideas and concepts, fosters curiosity, and strengthens cognitive development. Reading also enhances listening skills and prepares children for future academic success by laying the groundwork for all future learning.

Programs

At WonderWorks Academy, we offer flexible preschool options to meet the needs of 3-5-year-olds. For our younger students, we have morning classes with choices of two-day (Tuesdays and Thursdays), three-day (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), or four-day (Monday through Thursday) schedules, with the option to add Friday morning for those enrolled in the two or four-day programs. For our older classes, we provide similar options in the afternoon, allowing families to choose from the same two-day, three-day, or four-day formats, with the added flexibility of adding Friday afternoon to two or four-day programs if desired. These varied options ensure that every family can find a schedule that works best for their child’s learning needs and family routine.

Please note:

Child must be 3-years-old by the first day of classes (08/18/25), fully potty trained, and up-to-date on immunizations.
